Hada Labo Moisturizing Set

I bought this product from Guardian. I saw it before previously but never thought of trying it. I was running out of moisturizer and I decided to try something off the shelf. Hada Labo Is a Japanese brand. The brands philosophy is Perfect X Simple. I believe that this shows in their packaging. It is a very simple packaging with a lot of Japanese kanji on it. Thank God they stick a sticker to tell you upfront what is the product. Instruction and ingredients are also in English. This brand is manufacture by mentholatum.

Hada Labo uses only the purest ingredients with no necessary additives. Therefore it is free of fragrance, mineral oil, alcohol and colorant. It contains super hyaluronic acid which provides twice the moisture retention capacity. Here is a video about the brand.

I bought the promo set at RM 89.90 for the cleanser, moisturizing lotion and the moisturizing milk. I have been using it for about 2 weeks and the result exceeded my expectations.

I do not fancy the cleanser too much because I think it is a bit dry for my skin. The moisturizing lotion really does moisturize my skin and it is comparable to premium hydrating serums that I have used before. Having said that, premium hydrating serums do show results faster. The moisturizing milk on the other hand does its job but I find the texture a little too sticky. It takes a long time to absorb.

Verdict : An effective and affordable product. Moisturizing milk texture is a little too sticky and the cleanser makes my skin dry.

Price : RM 89.90 – Cleanser (50g), Moisturizing Lotion (170ml) & Moisturizing Milk (140ml)

Kiss Me Mascara

I have never heard of this brand until a friend recommends me. This Is a Japanese brand with a corny brand name :) They have 2 different types, Long & Curl and Volume& Curl. I choose the Long & Curl version because I have “invisible” lashes.

Comparing this to fiber wig, I think this color is darker and gives more volume. My lashes looks nicer if i give it 2 coats. Sometimes it does clumps up. The trick is, after the second coat, leave it for a while to dry up, them comb it.I normally use the metal comb which I bought from Daiso for RM 5 only. I think it is very handy.

This is a water-resistant mascara. It claims that it will not run off or smudge even when you rub your eye or CRY. I am not sure about crying, but I am sure that it does not smudge even after a whole day of wearing it. I did a test. I put some mascara on the back of my hand, then I try to wash it off with water. It does not go off. It will only go off when I use an oil base make up remover.

For people who are a little “lay back” there might be a little problem when it comes to cleaning up. You have to use a proper make up remover for water proof make up. This mascara takes more work to clean up but if you have a proper make up remover, it will not be a problem.

Verdict : Long lasting, water proof and nice color. Cleaning up will take some time.

Celmonze Celsoft Emulsion

This is the first time I try any products from Celmonze. The texture of this is fine, not too oily. It also has a very pleasant fragrance. It might not be suitable for people who are sensitive to scents in skin care.

This is the first time I came across this sort of packaging. You need to press the top and the moisturizer will squeeze out. This type of packaging is hygienic but the down side is I have problem pressing the moisturizer out when it is about to finish and cannot see how much more is left.

Verdict : I am a little disappointed with this product. I expected more from a premium product. For me, this just acts like a normal moisturizer. The good thing about this product is the packaging, a very hygienic option.

Price : Premium - RM 208 (30ml)

Where : I bought it from Cellnique beauty salon but I am pretty sure that it is available in Celmonze beauty salon as well

My Beauty routine when I am in a diligent mood

I normally do this during the weekend OR when i have some party to attend the next day :)

Step 1: Cleansing Milk to remove make up

Step 2: Cleansing gel to clean my face

Step 3: Hop into the shower, shampoo & body shampoo

Step 4: Hair mask (leave for 10 minutes)

Step 5: Body scrub while waiting for hair mask to work its magic

Step 6: Out of the shower, splash moisturizing lotion all over my body

Step 7: Mask 1 – to remove dead skin (acts like a scrub)

Step 8: Cream to massage my face to help blood circulation

Step 9: Hydrating mask (when I am using a tissue mask, I will skip the normal toner/serum and moisturizer)

Step 10: LAST but not least, moisturizing lotion for feet. After that wear a pair of socks and ZZZzzzzzz

Pheeewwww….. There are 10steps!!! And it takes between 75 minutes to 90 minutes to complete the routine! Well, the most important thing is that I feel clean and moisturize after that. I try to do it once a week.

Time Off - Will it make or break you?

Why do couples need a break in their relationship? These are a few reasons that i think is valid to call for a time off.

1. Because of 3rd party. Then you should review your relationship and see if it is worth forgiving him/her to continue or end the relationship.
2. Beginning of a relationship (less than 1 year). To evaluate if you are right for each other or else, let's not waste each other's time in nurturing the relationship.
3. Commitment level of both parties. When either party feels it is time to settle, but cannot reach a common understanding.

My question is, do you think time off will make or break a relationship?

Miss la-la land here definitely do not have an answer to that therefore this is meant as a point to ponder on.

Cellnique Advanced Bio Renewal Masque & Vital Cellular Repair Masque

I have been using Cellnique’s products on and off for the past few years. I do not use their whole range, just some of it. But I do my facial there every month because it is near my house. Today I am going to review 2 of their salon products. These products are not available off the shelf. They are only available at their Beauty Salons.

The Advanced Bio Renewal Masque is a clay scrub masque. It exfoliates dead skin to reveal a softer, fresher and healthier skin. It contains Bio-captured fresh fruit enzymes and I think because of this ingredient, the masque smells like tropical fruit, a very pleasant scent. To use this masque, you just need to scoop up a reasonable amount onto your palm and mix with some milk cleanser (optional). The milk cleanser is to make sure the masque is not too thick and so that your jar of masque can last you longer :) My beautician thought me this. Leave it on your face for 10 minutes then wet your face a little or your hands and gently massage in a circular motion. Rinse off after that. On the instruction, it says that there might be a mild stinging and warm sensation on the cheek. So BEWARE for those who have sensitive skin. It works ok on me.
After the Bio Renewal Masque, I will normally follow with the Vital Celular Repair Masque. This masque contains marine botanicals and anti-oxidants. It is also enriched with potent nutrients of yeast beta glucan, vitamins and hyaluronic acid. To use this apply a thin layer on your face and leave it for 10 minutes. Then rinse off. This masque is suitable for all skin type including post-operation skin.

Verdict 1: I like the smell of the advanced bio-renewal masque and I think it really serves its purpose of exfoliating. If use in long run, it really gives you a smooth to the touch complexion. The only thing I don’t like is the jar packaging. This product can last me for quite long but because it is in a jar, it is not so hygienic. I think for products in a jar, it should at least come with a spatula.

Verdict 2: The Vital Cellular Repair Masque gives me a very rich feeling. It feels very rich with ingredients and at the same time mild enough for all skin type and post-operation skin. My beautician told me that it can be apply around the eye area and also on the lip. I tried and it was ok on the lip but it made my eye tear when I apply around the eye area maybe because I have sensitive eyes.
These 2 products work best when use together. If you want to use the Bio Renewal Masque only, my recommendation is to follow up with a hydrating mask (any brand). And if you want to use the Vital Cellular Masque only, use a scrub (any brand) prior to this product for better absorption.

Faceshop Raspberry Roots Sleeping Mask

This is the first time I came across something call a sleeping mask. A sleeping mask is a type of mask that you can sleep in. This mask contains 10.75% of plant extract and 0.1% of raspberry roots extract. It is said to be able to tone, lift, hydrate and replenishing the skin with nutrients. This mask is one of their best sellers. I have tried using it, I am not sure about the toning and tightening pore effect, but I do think that it does hydrate my skin.

How to use a sleeping mask.

Pump a small amount of mask onto your hand. When you pump, just pump half do not go all the way and pump a full pump because it will be too much.

Then spread a thin later across you whole face, if there is remaining, you can spare some for your neck :) You will feel that it is a bit sticky, leave it for a while to dry off then you will be fine. Next GO TO BED. The next morning, just wash it off with water or if you want to wash it off with cleanser you can do so too. Then follow with your normal routine.
Verdict : For those who wants convenience and some fun because of its novelty :) It will also last you quite long.

Price : Mid-range - RM 99 (100ml)

Where : Any Faceshop. There is one in Mid Valley and also 1 Utama.

Fiber wig paint-on false lashes mascara and Dejavu Lasting fine eyeliner

I bought this about 3 weeks back. Sasa was having a promotion where these 2 products came together at the price of RM 59. I think this is a value for money because the original price for the mascara alone is RM 59.

This is a smudge proof but not water proof mascara. I was a little confuse at first, when I asked the sales assistant, she said that smudge proof means that it will not smear (none smudge proof mascara will leave you with panda eyes if you are not careful). This mascara is not water proof, meaning when you get into water, the mascara will wear off.

I like it that this is a fiber type mascara and even if you accidentally rub your eyes, it will not smear, instead you will see small little fiber which looks like your eye lashes around your eyes. For a quick fix, go to the ladies and just wipe or pick off those little fibers around your eye area. No make-up remover needed!

The eye liner is also very easy to use. It is also smudge proof. This liner also allows you to draw a fine line. The one thing I do not like about it is that the color is not dark enough.

Verdict: Mascara is good if you do not want to worry about getting panda eyes later in the day and it separates the lashes neatly. It is also easy to remove and if you are lazy, you can remove it with water only. But sadly I do not think it helps much in lengthening and volumising my lashes. It still looks almost the same maybe because my lashes are short and sparse. But on another note, I have a friend who has very long lashes who uses the same mascara and have gotten a better effect. As for the liner, it does last you the whole day without panda eyes but I think the color is a bit to light.

Price : Mid – range : RM 59

Faceshop sale!

Faceshop is having a sale. I was at 1 utama yesterday and saw a lot of people in their shop. They are having 10-20% off their mask and 30% off all their nail polish. There is also discount on their eyeliners. They are giving out 10% off on the Rasberry Root sleeping mask.

I only bought 2 pink nail polish in anticipation for Alice in Wonderland heheheh. OPI has an Alice in wonderland range, i do not normally buy expensive nail polish because i have never been able to completely finish using any nail polish that i have ever bought. So i will make do with these 2 pink polish from Faceshop. The original price is RM 5.90 and somemore got 30% discount. I got these two for only RM 8.25.
