Goodies From Taiwan

I was in Taiwan last week. It was a good short break. I am not exactly at my best these days and kind of problematic. So the retail therapy does help a little. Felt sad when i landed in Malaysia because it's back to reality haihhh....

That aside, Taiwan is a place where you can get a lot of cosmetics and skin care at a cheaper price compare to in Malaysia. Shoes are also pretty cheap and the quality is better than those in Bangkok. If you are planning for a shopping and eating trip I would recommend you to go to Taiwan instead of Bangkok, looking at Thailand's political situation. Food is also very good in Taiwan. Remember to try their Bubble Milk Tea, it is extremely GOOD. Nothing compare to the ones you get here.

Here is all the beauty stuff I bought from there. 4 boxes of mask. I bought the Strawberry and yogurt, Aloe Vera, Apple, and the Cooling Mask. I also bought different types of Mascara. They still have Kiss me mascara there and I bought 2 tubes. I also bought 2 tubes of fiberwig extra long and lash knockout which are not available here in Malaysia. Another mascara that is not available here is Sky Long Mascara. I bought canmake mascara as well because it is much cheaper in Taiwan.

Last but not least is a double eye lid glue. The brand is Eye Talk. All these are either from Watson or Sasa.
I will definitely review them once I use them. This will take a while especially the mascara because I currently have 4 open tubes which I am struggling to finish!! I am a greedy little girl :p

Cellnique 10th Anniversary

Coyuen is the beauty salon that I go for my regular facial and they just had their 10th anniversary promotion. The packages are really worth it and I think it is the most value for money by far. I have been doing my facial here for almost 5 years.

Previous years, they will run their package promotion throughout the whole month, but this year, they encourage their customers to purchase a RM 100 voucher and come on selected dates to redeem their facial and FREE items. The RM 100 voucher consist of a facial treatment, a soothing and hydrating lotion (which is a toner) and I get a book of coupon worth RM 600+ of treatment. On top of all these, I also get a free manicure.

They only revealed the packages promotion during the selected dates. I signed up for the RM 1888 for 10 times of Stem Cell treatment / CRM treatment. The stem cell treatment is for hydrating and the CRM is for open pores. I also top up RM 10 to get 10 times eye treatment and another RM 10 to get a product (selected product only). I choose the A Gel which is for slimming. The retail price is a whooping RM 448!!!!! And every RM 500 I spent will entitle me to 1 entry of lucky draw. So I get 3 entries. My mum and my sister also signed up for packages.

I went to the lucky draw with my mum today and I think we were damn lucky. All 3 of our (my sis can’t make it so we represented her)names were called upon for consolation price. So we all got a Hydrating Aroma Shower Gel with essential oil (retail at RM 99) and a Cellnique eco-bag. The grand prize was RM 3000+ worth of products, 1st prize is RM 1800+ worth of products and 2nd prize is RM 800++ worth of products.

Will review the products once I have tried them :)

Tsuya Tsuya

I was wandering at Watson yesterday and i notice that they have a new brand in store. It is called Tsuya Tsuya and it originated from Korea. They have some mascaras and also some manicure and pedicure stuff. There is one particular interesting item i saw. It is a hairband which you are supposed to wear under your hair to give an illusion that your hair is thicker. Sounds cool but that thing costs RM 79. Very expensive la...

I intend to try their mascara but it is also quite pricy about RM 79 and i think the base also cost RM 79. I will consider this brand once i finish all my mascara. I currently have 4 tubes of mascara that is opened and i seriously do not know when will i finish them. I just bought the Maybeline 5X volume mascara 2 weeks ago. Will write a review on that sometime this week.

L’Oreal Cleanser

I have been using L’Oreal since I was a teenager. I started using their hydra fresh range product when I was about 19 and back then it was one of my favorite. It is really true that at different age, you will need different product to work its magic. Now, the hydra fresh range does not work for me.

Instead of moisturizing product, I am using L’Oreal’s cleansing products. They are affordable and also very good. I am currently using their gentle make up remover for waterproof make up and also their gentle cleansing milk.

The gentle make up remover is water and oil based remover. Some people say that it is not good to use any oil based makeup remover because it will cause oil seeds especially around the eye area. I have been using this for about 3 months and I think that it is ok so far. It removes water proof make up quite easily, no need to struggle.

Remember that you have to shake the bottle before using to mix the oil and the water.

I will follow with the milk cleanser. On the instruction, it says apply and massage lightly with fingertips and remove with cotton pad and follow with the toning lotion.

My understanding from the instruction is that you do not have to rinse. But what I do is, after removing with cotton pad, I will use my gel cleanser to double cleanse.

Verdict: The makeup remover works its magic and it is very affordable. Some might worry because it is oil based. Milk cleanser does not strip away moisture but I feel that you must rinse otherwise it will a bit oily on the skin.

Price: Affordable
Gentle Milk Cleanser – RM 23.90 (200ml)
Gentle make up remover – RM 23.90 (125ml)

DIY Honey Sugar Scrub

It is a gloomy Sunday. So what do you do on a gloomy sunday? SLEEP! unfortunately, my beloved mum woke me up super early this morning for Dim Sum. When i came back it was about 12 noon and it was still gloomy so i went back to bed.

When i woke up, i decided to give myself a little beauty treat. I made my own scrub. Below is the recipe.

2 table spoon of white sugar
2 table spoon of brown sugar
2 table spoon of honey
2 table spoon of lemon juice.

Put the sugar into a bowl, then the honey follow by the lemon juice.

Then mix everything together. it will be a little thick at first, but as you stir, i would be fine.

Use this to scrub your whole body. I used it on my face too BUT i would suggest those with sensitive skin not to do that, just in case. After shower, you will have really smooth skin. Splash some body lotion on for an extra moisturizing effect.

Kiss Me Mascara - Has been discontinued

Kiss Me Mascara has been DISCONTINUED!!!!

I felt so sad. I was at Plaza Damas for lunch with a friend and she commented that she likes the mascara i was wearing. Then i brought her to Sasa. I tried looking for the mascara but can't find. So i thought maybe because the Sasa in Plaza Damas is a small outlet therefore they do not carry. Then i decided to ask the sales assistant and she told me that it has been discontinued.

I started texting my friends and all of them were really upset. Haihhhhhh...

Benefit Get Bent Lash Mascara

To be honest, I bought this mascara because it was on sale. . Before Chinese New Year they had this slash down on a lot of their products and I have teamed up with my sister and bought quite an amount of their products at discounted price.

This mascara claims to be able to push up your lashes like how wonder bras push up your boobs :). The brush is also bent at an angle. After using a few Japanese fiber mascara, I feel that the texture of this mascara is very thick and I am not so comfortable with it. It is also not waterproof nor it is smudge proof, by mid day, I already have panda eyes. Since I have already bought this, I now use this mascara and coat my Japanese fiber mascara over it so that it does not smudge.

I have a friend who uses the other range of benefit mascara called Bad Gal and she also have the same problem. I think these mascaras are not suitable for our country’s hot and humid weather.

Verdict : It provides a very good curl but it is not waterproof.

Price : Premium – USD 14.25 approximately RM 50 after conversion . Priced at RM 95 in Malaysia’s Benefit counter (6.5g)

Benefit Realness of Concealness

I am a huge fan of benefit. Before Chinese New year they had this slash down on a lot of their products and I have teamed up with my sister and bought quite an amount of their products at discounted price. We purchased them online so some of the stuff is not available in Malaysia. My sister is very crazy about her eye bags and she has convinced me to purchase the Realness of Concealness.

What I like about this all-in-one super concealer pack is that the products are all available in mini sizes. Below is a review for all the mini size items.

1) Lemon aid (1.0g) – This is meant to be applied on your lids. It is a yellow correcting cream that hides discoloration. I think that it really works but I don’t think that is long lasting maybe because I touch my eyes quite often.

2) Boi-ing (1.20g) – This is a concealer to hide dark eye circles. I think that this concealer does its job and it is not drying so you will not have to worry about it caking up. Again I do not think that it is long lasting.

3) Ooh la lift (2.5g) – This consist of raspberry and chamomile extracts and it is supposed to de-puff and firm up the under eye area . BUT I do not think it works because I really do not see any difference.

4) High beam (2.5g) – This is a highlighter that is supposed to highlights your cheeks and you can also use it on the bridge of your nose. This is one of the best highlighter that really does its magic. It is best to use with a cheek tint. Dot the cheek tint and the highlighter on your cheeks and blend it together and voila you will have a really high beam. The only sad side is that it does not last. If you sweat or wipe your cheeks, it will be gone but you can always touch up :)

5) Lip Plump (2.5g) – This is supposed to be applied on your lips, let it dry then apply your favorite lippie. I would suggest that you put on your lip balm before applying this lip plump because it can be a bit drying. I am not use to using this because it feels as though you are applying foundation on your lips.

Verdict : What I like most about travel packs and all-in-one packs is that you are able to try a variety of products before deciding what you really need or work for you. My favorite item in the realness of concealness would be the high beam. The con about these products is that they do not last long so touch up is needed.

Price : Mid-range – USD24 approximately RM 84 after conversion (not available in Malaysia )

Benefit Rush Hour

My most essential make up item is always blusher and lip color/gloss. Benefit rush hour is something that fits my basic requirement. This product is very good for emergency. I am sure a lot of girls have been in emergency situation, for instance your boss tells you that there will be a last minute dinner after work with the client and you know you are not well make up for the occasion. Rush hour is your savior.

You can apply directly on your lip for some color. For your cheeks, draw a small circle or a line and start blending. If you have the high beam, you can also use it together.

Verdict : Convenience in a stick. This is a must have from every girl.

Price : Premium – USD 16.50 approximately RM 58 after conversion (1.0g)
